│ This is a VENDINFO Product Information Record │
│ │
│ This record is a means of conveying information about a software │
│ product from the author to distributors and users. It contains a │
│ normal, "human-readable" section (you're reading it now), followed │
│ by a compressed data record. The data record contains a great │
│ deal of information in a form useable by automated tools. This │
│ allows BBSes, disk vendors, etc. to test automatically for │
│ permission to distribute, and to automatically extract product │
│ information for use in BBS files databases, vendor catalogs, etc. │
│ │
│ The VENDINFO file standard is published and is freely useable. │
│ │
│ The VENDINFO toolset includes a free end-user viewer, processing │
│ tools for use by distributors (BBSes, shareware disk vendors, │
│ etc.), and the editor used by author/publishers to produce these │
│ records. These tools are either free or very-low cost shareware. │
│ The toolset can be obtained from many sources, including the │
│ originators of VENDINFO: │

contains schedules, standings, predictions, office pool and more for the
1996 NFL season.
The FOOTBALL GUIDE is a shareware program. It is an evaluation version
which includes all the features of the registered version for the

you like the program and wish to continue its use after this evaluation
period, you are required to pay $15.00 (not much, is it?) for the

===== Installation =====================================
If you have the 1996 FOOTBALL GUIDE on a floppy disk, you may use it
from there or install it on your C: Hard Drive. To use it straight off
your floppy:
o Make a back-up copy.
o Make the disk drive active by typing its letter and a colon, then
pressing ENTER. For example, A: <ENTER> or B: <ENTER>.
o Type FBG <ENTER>.
INSTALLATION ON YOUR C: HARD DRIVE
The installation procedure for FOOTBALL GUIDE is quite simple. The
package includes a program, "INSTALL.BAT", which automates the
entire process. You will need about 500K of available disk space
on the hard drive on which you plan to install the FOOTBALL GUIDE.
INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
To install from diskette(s), you should do the following steps:
o Place the FOOTBALL GUIDE disk in the appropriate diskette drive.
o Make the disk drive active by typing its letter and a colon, then
pressing ENTER. For example, A: <ENTER> or B: <ENTER>.
o Type INSTALL <ENTER>.
o This will:
1. Make a directory on your C: drive called 96FBG.
2. Copy all the FOOTBALL GUIDE files to the 96FBG directory.
3. Put a file on your root C: directory called FBG.BAT, which will
start the program. It will not modify your autoexec.bat or
config.sys files.
NOTE: If your Hard Drive letter is not C:, then you should manually
perform the above procedure using your Hard Drive letter.
INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
If you downloaded <product> from a BBS (or received it in the form of
archive files from some other source), you should perform the following
steps:
o If the files are compressed, extract the contents of the file(s) in
a temporary directory on your hard drive. The procedure for
doing this varies, depending on the form in which you received the
package, but normally one would use a decompression program such
as PKUNZIP.
o Make the directory in which the FOOTBALL GUIDE files are loca
